LEAD ON CAMPUS (LOC)

Campus-Based Community Structure

To achieve this vision, we are implementing a campus-based model that serves as the foundation for our outreach strategy. These LEAD
campus communities will function as hubs for:

● Peer support and mental health education
● Student-led advocacy campaigns
● Volunteer mobilization for outreach programs

From these hubs, we will extend our impact into:

● Primary and secondary schools, through school-based mental health
clubs and workshop

LOC OBJECTIVES

1.Raise Public Awareness: Promote mental health awareness across campus through campaigns, events, and open discussions.
2.Collaborate with Campus Stakeholders: Work closely with relevant departments and organizations to address mental health needs effectively.
3.Advocate for Services and Policies: Champion the development and implementation of mental health services and supportive policies on campus.
4.Create Safe and Inclusive Spaces: Provide a welcoming environment where students can feel heard, seek support, and build skills related to mental health and well-being.

LOC GOALS

The LEAD On Campus (LOC) strategy is designed to support students
in response to the growing rise in mental health concerns among young people. This initiative aims to foster a more
supportive, informed, and stigma-free campus environment. Through LOC, our goals are to:

● Raise Awareness: Organize mini-conferences, workshops, and seminars within departments and faculties to promote open conversations about
mental health.
● Educate and Empower: Provide mental health training for students, lecturers, and staff to improve mental health literacy and the ability to support others.
● Promote Peer-to-Peer Support: Establish peer-led support systems that encourage students to look out for one another and share coping strategies in safe, judgment-free spaces.
● Reduce Stigma: Launch public awareness campaigns on campus to challenge misconceptions about mental illness and promote understanding.

LOC Administrative Structure

The LEAD On Campus (LOC) chapter will be administratively led by a Campus President, who will be appointed by the LEAD Management Team after successfully completing a mandatory training and orientation program. This ensures that every LOC President is fully equipped to lead mental health initiatives on campus with knowledge, empathy, and integrity.

Executive Committee (ExCo) Structure
To support the LOC Chapter President in the day-to-day execution of programs and responsibilities, the Executive Committee will include the following key
roles:

●Vice President: Serve as support to the president and act in the capacity of the president when not available.
● Secretary: Responsible for documentation, meeting minutes, internal communications and correspondence.
● Treasurer: Oversees the financial activities of the LOC chapter, including budgeting, fundraising records, and financial reporting.
● Project Coordinator: Leads the development and effective execution of the chapters programs within deadlines, cost and standard delivery.
● Welfare Coordinator: Ensures the well-being of LOC members and helps organize mental health support initiatives and student outreach programs.
● Membership Coordinator: Leads the overall management of recruitment, retention, mobilization and team communication activities with LOC members –
during meetings, projects and other engagements.
● Student Advocates: These are student leaders or influencers that drive the work of the LOC within specific departments, to aid recruitments, raise
supporters, facilitate collaborations and campus presence.
● Meeting Coordinator: Organizes and manages the execution of meetings – LOC general meetings, executive meeting, stakeholders meeting, training programs, conferences e.t.c.
● Faculty Advisers: These are staff members/lectures – preferably from the guardian and counseling department or mental health related department who
serve as club matrons/patrons that represents and backs the LOC operation on the campus. They support, advise and ensure the LOC functions with the school regulations.

Together, this leadership team will ensure the smooth running of the LOC
chapter, align with LEAD’s broader mission, and strengthen mental health
literacy and support structures within their campus and community
